8:30 a.m. - 4: 30 p.m. at the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park
The Bosque Education Guide is an interdisciplinary curriculum about the Middle Rio Grande Valley ecosystem. The curriculum provides classroom-based and field activities for students grades K-12. For the central activity, students construct a model of the Middle Rio Grande and then manipulate the paper and cloth pieces to demonstrate human impacts over the last two hundred years. Workshop activities will occur indoors and outdoors. Participants should dress in comfortable clothing for the weather that day and bring a hat, sunscreen and insect repellant as needed. A sack lunch and water bottle will be necessary as well. Workshop participants will receive the curriculum and an accompanying kit. The only cost for is the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park’s $3.00 per vehicle day-use fee (exact change or check).

The workshop and the materials for participants are offered through funding from the Friends of the Rio Grande Nature Center and the workshop is co-sponsored by the NM Museum of Natural History & Science and the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park with long-term support from the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Bosque Initiative Group.
