7-9 pm, Thursday, February 16
O’Niell’s Pub / 4310 Central Ave, SE / Albuquerque, NM 87108

Join us for the first Sierra Club n’ Beer of 2012!

Photo journalist Carlan Tapp will “take” us to the Four Corners region where he and local Navajo residents have been documenting the effects of the coal industry. This promises to be a stirring presentation as we will see and hear stories from people living in the shadows of King Coal – near coal mines, coal-burning power plants, and coal ash disposal sites throughout the area.

Meet us at O’Niell’s next Thursday, February 16. As always, the first 25 people to arrive will receive a free drink ticket. RSVP NOW on the Sierra Club Facebook page!

Key evidence in Federal Court has come from this work documenting coal’s effects on Navajo communities, which demonstrates the power of these stories to help educate and bring change.

Following Carlan’s presentation, we’ll provide updates on our ongoing Coal-to-Clean Energy campaign in New Mexico. Learn about the assault on new clean air safeguards, and our plans to ensure New Mexico’s coal plants reduce their toxic air pollution.
