Flash Flood Community Art Action

Dozens of community institutions and activists are gearing up for the November 20, 2010 “FLASH FLOOD for a Living River.” The Santa Fe Art Institute, in coordination with Bill McKibben’s, an international campaign dedicated to building a movement in response to the global threats of climate change, is spearheading the New Mexico project, which is one of five U.S. sites out of 20 global locations.

New Mexico Climate Master Program - Fall 2010 Session

Climate Masters Poster

Learn how to reduce your Carbon footprint and volunteer to train others to do the same. The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) is offering an 11 week course on Climate Change and Sustainability. The dates are from September 22 - December 8, 2010 and the class will be held in Albuquerque, NM.

Course participants are provided 30 hours of training, and in turn they "pay back" the program through volunteer service.

Help Cap Carbon Emissions in New Mexico

It is time to establish carbon emission caps for New Mexico. It would appear that the U.S. Senate is not going to act anytime soon, so establishing more local caps on carbon emissions are needed now. The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) will hold hearings during the week of August 16 in consideration of establishing carbon caps. Please get involved and attend one of these meetings. Speak out and provide moral support for the clean energy side.
