Events for Bosquitos kids group

Youth outdoors

Bosquitos, the youth and all-ages subgroup of the Bosque Action Team, had a busy fall.

In August and September we worked with Victoria Regina and Sandria Cook to make and paint native trees of papier-mache to display at the Wilderness 50 Conference in Albuquerque. Special thanks to Victoria for her leadership on this project. Also in October, we visited the Bosque with Pam McBride and Jim McGrath of the Native Plant Society and learned about the lifecycle of the cottonwood.

Bosquitos in the Wilderness - EXPLORE THE VALLE DEL ORO!

Moderate hike to Giant Footprint Ruins

Beautiful hike near Jemez Springs to the top of the mesa. About 6-8 miles. The hike starts with a possible stream crossing and then a very steep climb of about 500 feet up an old road to the mesa top and then cross-country to the ruins. Great views from atop the mesa thru pine trees. Marcia Skillman, (505) 699-3008, marciaskillman@hotmail.com

September 2014 Outings

Outing sign-up is by contact with leader. You’ll need to sign a waiver that the leader will provide. Dogs allowed as noted. Trips are normally FREE (pay when carpooling) and open to non-members (spread the word!), though we do like it if you join the Club to increase our local and national clout.

There are many, many outings, click headline above or "Read More" below to see them!
