Trapping - How You Can Help
What You Can Do to Help
Here are some of the things you can do:
- Get Involved: Help us spread the word that trapping laws need to be reformed. Contact everyone you know who cares about wildlife and urge them to act now to preserve our wildlife.
- Stay informed: You can sign-up to receive bulletins which will keep you informed and which will tell you how you can help to save our wildlife. Show your support and help reform trapping laws in New Mexico. Use this link to ask to be put on our e-mail list.
- Join Up: There is power in numbers. Groups like the Sierra Club and those with links on this page need your support. These people care about wildlife and our natural environment and they act to preserve and protect it.
- Be Heard: Here is a link to the New Mexico Game and Fish Commissioners who control trapping laws in New Mexico. Please be courteous, but make your opinion known to them by e-mailing, writing, calling or visiting or them at their offices.
- Report Your Encounters with Traps: If you have ever had an encounter with a trap on public lands in New Mexico, please share your experience! We are compiling information about trapping incidents. You can remain anonymous. Please write to notraps@kitcarson.net. During trapping season, with prices high, trappers are out on our public lands and so are their traps. So be careful.
